Detailed Description
(Include Screen Shots if required )
Requirement is as follow : We have a PO for quantity 10,000 units and the vendor should be informed about it in multiple releases for quantity 5,000 units each so that the amount will be less. The PO no should be the same.
Analysis and Recommendations
(Include Screen Shots if required)
We have analyzed different options available in SAP in Outline Agreements 1) CONTRACTS and 2) SCHEDULING AGREEMENTS and the necessary document was send to Jeff.
Outline agreements.pdf
We have finally send a mail with below information in it to Jeff:
" We have reviewed all the options to suit your requirement and I am afraid we only have two options as mentioned in my document earlier:
1. By Using Contracts - A contract can be created for a Bulk Quantity and the users can release as many release orders up to the quantity as mentioned in the contract. Each release is basically a PO but tied to that contract and can be individually MIGOed and MIROed. Standard SAP reports can be used to monitor the quantities already released and yet to be released.
2. By using Scheduling Agreement - A scheduling agreement is a Purchasing document in itself and is created for bulk quantity. We can create schedules or release plans ahead of time like 5000 EA per month, etc. You would then release the schedules for each month and once completed by the Vendor, you can receive the goods with reference to that scheduling agreement. This means that you would have one purchasing document in the end unlike in contract release orders functionality. However, you can not receive goods ahead of the schedule but only on or after the schedule date. In case you want to do so, you will have to change the date in the Scheduling Agreement itself.
Please let me know in case I can set up a demo so that you can understand better. "
Resolution
The Requirement which Jeff is looking for is not possible in SAP AFS .
